No easy choice at all! September is the last month of our trout season, and pike are getting into biting mood again. But when our rivers and creeks are clear and low in the late summer and early fall, it is also the best time to catch a good grayling!
Trout… Pike… Grayling… when I realized I would have some time to go fishing today, I continously shuffled the possibilites in my head… finally I packed several rods for every occasion in my car and set off, still indetermined. But as soon as I saw the first grayling in the current, my choice was clear!
Although the graylings get really big I like to fish a 3wt at the moment, paired with a simple Vosseler-reel without a brake. You can make super delicate presentations, and I have the impression that the fish tire faster with the soft rod. Anyhow, the day was perfect and I caught many good fish!
