Never have I experienced such a day! Although I knew that there were nice graylings in that stream, it wasn’t always too easy to lure them into a bite. For years I struggled to catch one beyond that magic 50cm… and this day, the first cast, the first fish, measured 51cm!

I fished a copperhead nymph, approached the stream on my knees, made two false casts and dropped the nymph upstream into the current. In every spot that looked the slightest bit like it could hold a grayling, I caught a fish of 40+ cm! Absolutely unbelievable! Two fish measured more than 50cm, and that within a single day!!!!

Good spots were the deep trenches with a dark ground or weeds, especially the inflow with stronger current.

What a wonderful day!
