Usually April is the month, when no weather forecast is possible… but this year, we seem to be one month late… The month of May brings us a mix of hailstorms and thunder, massive rain and occasionally sunny moments which show us that summer is not too far ahead, and that the sun is strong enough to have us break a sweat within moments, and fog up our glasses in an instant.
Soon, dry fly fishing will be on! I see a ring from a rising fish in the surface here and there, but as yet without any predicatability. Until then, fishing streamers keeps producing wonderful fish! And since my family asked for a fish for our first BBQ this year, a 47cm brown trout accompanied me home… it took the streamer while the last evening sun was touching the hilltops, on a cast very close to the opposite bank… a last and final strike during this weekend.
