Today one of the trouts I caught had a beautiful red dot on the adipose fin. Wonderfully red, perfectly round, and probably without any “use” (in a biological sense)… just being pretty!
Brown trouts shown an astonishing variety of patterns: I looked through my pictures of previous years and sorted out the ones below… all from the same little creek, all browns! Unbelievable, don’t you think?
